Porsche West Houston Uses GIR to Track Fuel by Vehicle

Oct. 7, 2025

Porsche West Houston uses a GIR Fuel Management System to support fuel tracking in a busy dealership environment, where vehicles are regularly moved, prepared, demonstrated, and fuelled as part of daily operations.

For dealerships, fuel usage needs to be connected to the right vehicle. At Porsche West Houston, staff can enter their code at the terminal, followed by the stock number of the vehicle being fueled. The system then authorizes the transaction and records the activity.

This is especially useful when stock numbers include both letters and numbers. According to Porsche West Houston, its previous system did not allow letters to be entered, which made it harder to account for fuel usage by vehicle.

It is much better and easier to use.

With GIR’s built-in alphanumeric keypad, staff can enter a stock number or full VIN directly at the terminal. This helps create a clearer record of how much fuel is being used for each vehicle, as well as total fuel usage over time.

For a dealership, that level of detail matters. Vehicles may be fueled for test drives, service, inventory movement, customer delivery, or other daily needs. A system that records the user, the vehicle, and the amount dispensed helps make fuel activity easier to review and manage.

For Porsche West Houston, the result is a fueling process that is easier for staff to use and better connected to the way vehicles are tracked across the dealership.
